The Star’s Pitt Street Interpretation Centre tells 'The Penang Story', celebrating the state’s cultural diversity and the histories of its many communities. Located in George Town, Malaysia, it is a lively exhibition, arts and retail space that opened to the public in 2014.
Working for SHP, Kate Spencer managed the project from the initial contract negotiations through to concept design and production. The project involved interpretive planning, stakeholder consultation, curatorial work, copy-writing, 3d design, graphic design, signage, fabrication and installation.
Kate also worked with SHP to develop a Heritage Interpretation Masterplan for the UNESCO World Heritage Listed GeorgeTown precinct and a range of interpretive concepts.
