The skills, attributes and knowledge we bring to work are like the stars in the universe. We each have a unique skills constellation that changes over the course of our careers — we add stars, we let some go, some shine brighter than others and they form clusters that become our superpowers.
Yet, how well do we know what is our unique constellation of skills?
In the creative industries, careers are often precarious, uncertain and unsustainable. And now more than ever, as we navigate the future of work, individuals need to understand and articulate the transferability of their skills to unlock new employment opportunities and multi-disciplinary career pathways.
Yet there are currently few accessible resources or frameworks to support skills assessment, leaving creatives and creative entities with limited understanding of the detail and breadth of their skills, and complimentary career paths.
This initiative aims to bridge this gap by developing tools to identify skills and support career planning and upskilling for individuals working in the creative ecosystem. The tools will also aid workforce development and skill-based recruitment, supporting Australia's creative workforce to be more resilient, sustainable and equitable.
